What is Pagiarism?
  "a piece of writing that has been copied from someone else and is presented as being your own work. 2: the act of plagiarising; taking someone's words or ideas as if they were your own." (

Plagiarism is a serious violation of academic and student conduct rules and is punishable at most universities and colleges with a failing grade and possibly more severe actions.

In–Text Citation
Use parenthetical citation immediately following a quotation or a paraphrase of a source’s idea. where you place the author’s name and the relevant page number(s). (Smith. 15)

When a source has no known author use a shortened title and the paragraph number. subheading or link title if no page number is given. (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation)

Works Cited: Basic Format: 

           Author's Lastname. Author's Firstname. “Title of Document." Title of Complete Work (if applicable). Name of editor. Edition (if applicable). Volume number. Series name. Place of publication. Name of publisher. Date of publication. [Page numbers]. Medium. (url if not easily found) [date of access if web]
