Third loose moose shot and killed by police in Ottawa area

Another moose was killed in Rockland. Efforts were made to try and find a tranquilizer gun, when one wasn't found police decided to simply shoot the poor creature. It appeared to be a young male; it was causing constant damage to hedges and fences. When it came close to a preschool police made the decision to kill it. Many other moose have come into cities probably looking for water.

This is an eye opener on how close we are to this type of wildlife. It is very unfortunate that a few of the moose that invaded our neighbourhoods needed to be shot in order to avoid them from causing harm. I guess we weren't thinking when we placed our neighbourhoods.
