This article is based on the connection between Eric Keillor and his love for moving water. He describes how he can't explain why he has this obsession with the water. He once paddled a stretch of the North Saskatchewan from Edmonton into Saskatchewan solo without any real reason for doing so and ended it after he found himself talking to the trees.
My opinion of this article is that it is a great representation of how a person can feel about canoeing or kayaking, flat water or white water. A love for paddling such as this is quite a change of pace for most people who would prefer the indoors. Even a little time spent in the great outdoors is better than a life never exposed it.
