Special Riders Deserve The Best by Daphne Davey

Therapeutic Riding offers exciting oportunites for children and adults with disabilities. The article that I read was about the Canadian Therapeutic Rding Association also known as CanTRA. CanTRA has been working for over 30 years with disabled children and adults. Riding provides not only physical benifits, but also provides support to overcome many psychological challenges, as well as a great social opportunity, and an awesome way to make new friends while enjoying a great riding experience. There are over 80 CanTRA therapeutic riding centres across canada. There have been thousands of positive results of therapeutic riding recorded by medical professionals, therapists, equestrian instructors, volunteers and parents across the world.

I really liked this article because it had lots of information about the organization, CanTRA. It has made me think about how much horses bring joy to our lives, weather we are riding them or just simply handling them, the experience seems to be life changing. After reading this article I realize how common the facilitys are across Canada and I think it would be a great experience to volunteer at one someday.
