Protect yourself from “Beaver Fever” -Kevin Callan

Rating ***

This article was quite enlightening. Although I already knew that water now-a-days can be quite harmful and Kevin wants to ensure our comfort and safety on the trip. He explains proper and effective ways to ensure that we have a safe trip and ways that we can extent the life of any water filter we buy. He explains how water filters will last you a year if you frequent trips maybe two or three times in the year and this is because the filter itself will wears out and can no longer be safe to drink from.

I learned from this article that improper treatment of your water can lead to very harmful beaver fever that consists of diarrhea and nausea that can be very uncomfortable when on a trip. A helpful tip that he taught me was to use an extra coffee filter to extent the life of your filter.

Times have changed and water isn’t the same as it was 20 years ago. It’s dirty and full of harmful viruses and pesticides that, without proper filtration or treatment, can lead to personal harm. I recommend this article to anyone unaware of the harms water can cause you and hope they learn something.
