the 10 worst portages ever relly grab my atention quickly. its a goo artical to read because it good to know what to look out for befor you go out in the woods.
I was reading a magazing and one of the articles were called the 10 worst portages ever. I started to read the article and it was telling me what were the 10 worst things that can happen wile you portage.
#5 struck me the most. it said what to do and what not to do when a blood sucking leeche attaches itslef to you. the best method is to wait 10 to 20 minutes until the leech detaches itself.
If thats too gross then take a sharp fingernail to dislodge its suckers. Dont rip it off as tempting as it seems it will tear your skin and can get infected. also never use salt or heat. they work but it causes the leech to regurgitate into the open wound witch can cause infection, or worse, disease
