NZ Helicopter Extraction

Thought you had it bad when you injured yourself out on a trip? Well on the Hokitika River in New Zealand a paddler, Nicholas Thomas, 32, fell out of his kayak injury him deep in the brush. He was suspected to have broken ribs making it impossible to paddle out and due to the very rugged terrain, impossible to walk out. After this incident his fellow paddler had to paddle out leaving him totally alone in the brush for one night while he went to alert police. When the police got word they sent a rescue helicopter to air lift him out.
