Prospectors are meeting the needs of an industrializing
country. Prospectors have been a workhouse of the wildness for more then eight
decades.
Countless battered prospector canoes rotted to dust were
on the empty shore line for the last century.
Cedar-canvas canoes appeared in 1870’s but only came to general
use in 1904. a 16 footer canoe could take you “out” for a month or more.
According to Roger MacGregor, it was designed to service
the railway survey companies, timbers cruisers, trappers and men wide-eyed gold
fever.
