All Weather Peaks
By Marion Harrison

It's amazing what you can find if you look hard enough and embrace the beauty of the earth we live on.

In 1980, Ruedi Beglinger was in search for the best spot for a new skiing resort in the Selkirk Mountains and he found it. On the Durrand Glacier, 40 km north-east of Revelstoke, there is ample snowfall, varied terrain, and different difficulty leveled runs. Soon it became a hot spot for skiing and snowboarding. Not only was it a good spot for winter sports, it also happened to be an amazing area for hiking.

Marion and her husband decided to try out the hike of this Glacier and from the first day of the adventure it was obvious the Glacier had astonishingly beautiful sights and features. Over a course of several days they explored peaks of several mountains, some were easier than others but they pushed through it all. They established a trust in the hiking course of the Glacier and the hospitality. They mapped about a hundred kilometres of hiking trails and even though it seemed like a lot they had time to go back to the lodge and enjoy other things while they were there such as swimming in the shallow waters, enjoying live music and so much more!

I would recommend this article to anyone who is interested in possibly visiting somewhere and viewing different options for possible locations because this place sounds beautiful. I would honestly recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading about light hearted adventures that are true because they can relate to your future plans, or even what you enjoy doing now. It's just a fun story that's interesting to read.
