Article #3 - Freeskier Sarah Burke

Freeskier Sarah Burke
By: Ryan Krogh
Rating: **

Sarah Burke is a very accomplished freeskier, shes the only woman to land a 1080 in competition. In that year she was the first skier to win an ESPY. She won every major park and pipe ski competition in the world between 2007 and 2009. Ever since then, she's been suffering from injuries that have stopped her from doing well in competition. When she returns, she hopes to convince the world that half pipe skiing should have its spot in the Olympics. She has wanted to be in the Olympics ever since she was a kid and she thinks that they need new sports that kids would want to do.

When I clicked on this article on the outside online website, I was hoping to get more insight on free skiing and the Olympics, since that was what the description told me. Instead, it basically just summed up Sarah Burke's life in pro skiing with a little bit added to the end about her opinion on free skiing in the Olympics. This article was slightly informative on the subject of Sarah Burke, her injuries and placement in competitions but it was not what I was looking for. I would recommend this article to anyone wishing to learn a little bit about arguably the best woman free skier in the world.
