Mountain Medic

Do you consider yourself fearless, brave, and willing to do anything to survive? Well have you thought about amputating your own leg? In October 1993, Bill Jeracki was on a fishing trip by the Colorado Rockies. All of a sudden, a big boulder came rolling down, right onto his leg, crushing it. Wearing only minimal clothing with a winter storm on its way, Bill knew he had to act fast. With no hope of rescue any time soon, he did the unthinkable. Amputated his own leg.
I thought this was a very interesting article. It was quick and to the point which I like, although I think they should have added more detail explaining how he amputated it and the pain he was in. All in all, it was an eye-catching read and am looking forward to reading more articles that have to do with such bravery. I recommend this article to anyone and everyone who breathes.
Under sports, great survival stories
