Skis to the North Pole

Imagine being alone for hours, days but how about months?

Ben Saunders and his friend skied to the geographic North Pole. Unfortunately summer came and they couldn't complete the journey back to civilization.

After this expedition Ben Saunders decided to solo ski across the Arctic Ocean from the tip of Russia to the North Pole and back to Canada. His expedition started in February 2011 and ended May 11th. Ben made it to the North pole and started to head to Canada, however Ben Saunders had to end his expeditions early because ice began to melt and soon there would be no ice left to ski on. Now Ben has a future journey planned he wants to ski across Antarctica and back a task no one has ever been able to complete.
