Snowshoe Away This Winter by mike Caldwell

rating***

Snowshoeing is a great way to spend your day in the great outdoors. Its one of the most inexpensive and by far the warmest sport you can participate in during the winter. All you need to start are a few simple supplys; like snowshoes and layeers of basic winter clothing. Snowshoeing requires no special skills so it is by far one of the most easy to learn, peacful and social sports winter has to offer. Snowshoeing's popularity is not only growing as a leisure sport but also in the competitive snowshoeing world as races become more popular. Races can range from 5 km to 10 km and trails are produced on all types of terrain, from hill sides to forests you can literally snowshoe anywhere there is snow! The snowshoe design its self has evolved since the days of wood and catgut, they are now made of aliminum frames and synthetic decking. These ajustments allow the showshoe to become skinnier and easier to walk in, not to mention a lot lighter.

After reading this article I really want to go snowshoeing, it sounds like lots of fun and a great way to spend the next snowday! I learnt that about the different places you can snowshoe and some of the different types of snowshoes you can purchase. I think snowshoeing is the perfect way to stay active during the winter. I would reccomend for anyone who is interested in snowshoeing to read this article.
