All you need to start are a few simple supplys; like snowshoes and layeers of basic winter clothing. Snowshoeing requires no special skills so it is by far one of the most easy to learn, peacful and social sports winter has to offer. Snowshoeing's popularity is not only growing as a leisure sport but also in the competitive snowshoeing world as races become more popular. Races can range from 5 km to 10 km and trails are produced on all types of terrain, from hill sides to forests you can literally snowshoe anywhere there is snow! The snowshoe design its self has evolved since the days of wood and catgut, they are now made of aliminum frames and synthetic decking. These ajustments allow the showshoe to become skinnier and easier to walk in, not to mention a lot lighter.
