All About Giving Up -By Suzanne

Rating: **
This article caught my eye because usually you are told to not give up; you are told to persevere and keep going for as long as you can. Suzanne first started hiking in 2005 and she was very determined to complete as many trails/mountains as she could.

This article wasn’t what I was expecting. It was not very good in my opinion because the author told many personal stories instead of getting to the point and talking more about the topic “All About Giving Up” directly. She talked a lot about her experiences of turning around because she didn’t have the proper gear, she recognized the hazards, or either herself or her partner wasn’t having fun. She said it is never wrong to call it a day and turn around. It doesn’t have to be in the middle of the winter or at a time where your safety is in danger because as soon as you stop enjoying yourself, you should head back. The trail will always be there for you to come back another day if you choose to.

I learned that it can be very easy to be so focused on reaching a goal that you lose sight of what is really important which is having fun and returning home safely. The most important thing you should always have in mind is to get out there, have fun and when you stop having fun, you should head home.
