Article 1

Article 1
Running Tips

Rating **** Very Good

This is well-constructed on how you should eliminate pain in your body and reduce injuries.

This article explains how you can relieve your pain during or before a run. It informs the reader that you can purse lip breath (breathing through your lips) to avoid or get rid of pain in your stomach. This also helps if you have trouble breathing while you are running. Another solution to the pain or trouble breathing is to start your run slowly and then gradually progress the speed of your run. This will not cause discomfort and allow you to have a nice and easy run. The article also provides some motivational tips for when you’re running or before your run. Some of the tips are to change your route every now and then so you don’t get bored of seeing the same thing over and over again. You can run with a friend. This allows both of you to motivate each other. The tip that I found the most motivational was that you can run past a hospital to tell yourself how lucky you are to be in good health.

This would be great for Outdoor Ed because we run during orienteering and we need to be prepared in case we feel pain in our stomach or have trouble breathing. We need to know what to do. The article also is great if you are planning to run now or in the future. It prepares you for what you need to do. I learned how to deal if I ever get a pain or “stitch” in my stomach. By reading "Running Tips", I believe this will change the way I will run in the future.

If you are thinking about becoming an avid runner when you are older or if you are starting now, this is a great article to read.
