Pedaling East of Ottawa, by Stephen
Johnson is about the authors cycling trip down a bike path beginning in
Prescott-Russell. He goes into detail the surrounding environment along the path
and the places he passes by and stops during his 5 hour trek. Some of the
places he stops by are the University of Alfred, a short distance away from the
path itself, the Larose Forest and Beau’s Microbrewery, where he took a break
to hydrate himself with a nice pint of beer.
I was drawn into the article the
moment I began to read it. This could be because it is nearby and I am familiar
with the locations. It made me think of the outdoors and it makes me feel like
biking and getting outside instead of staying in when it’s nice out. Also, I
have personally biked on this path a few times myself.
If you are interested in learning
about an underrated route to bike, I highly recommend reading this article.
