Hiker photographs bear just before fatal grizzly attack

Rating***

This article I picked to read was good. However I found it a little sad which is why I think I did not like it as much as some others but it was still a very interesting  topic to read about.

The article “Hiker photographs bear just before fatal grizzly attack” was an article about a man named Richard White who had been backpacking alone for three nights when he was mauled to death by a grizzly bear. Photographs found on Richard’s camera revealed that he was watching the bear for at least eight minutes near a river before the attack. Officials were puzzled on why the bear attacked because in the pictures the bear seemed to show no signs of aggression which is making them wonder what happened after the camera was put down. State troopers, park rangers and biologists, using the photos to identify the large male bear, shot and killed the animal as it was still defending its kill site. They performed a necropsy and confirmed that this was the bear that had killed Richard White.

Overall I found this was an interesting article to read about. I would recommend it to anyone who likes photography and backpacking so they understand the dangers they may face or to someone who is interested in bear attacks.
