It speaks about the importance of being prepared and knowing what to do because it can be the difference between life and death. Tips are written chronologically according to the order of the phases of the fall, which makes it easier to memorize.

Personally, before reading this article I wouldn’t have known what to do if I were to fall through ice. That scares me a little bit because although we are not exposed to the ice every day, it is possible that we will have to deal with it in some point of our lives. And that is exactly what I have learnt thanks to this article, how to deal with ice, hypothermia… I have also learnt that it is better being prepared and patient than actually living certain experiences.
