BEST TIME TO GO WHITE WATER RAFTING

Rating:**

Want an activity that is high adrenaline and lots of fun at the same time?  Try whitewater rafting.  This exciting activity is great for all ages.  You do not need to be an expert to go whitewater rafting.  It is actually very basic.  This article talks about the best time to go whitewater rafting.

Are you a beginner?  Summer to fall might be the best time to go for the less experienced.  The water level tends to be much lower.  It is also less scary at these times of the year, so if you are a bit unsure about whether to go or not, you should probably go at these times.  Also, think about if there has been much rain in the past few weeks, if there has, obviously the water levels will be higher so the waves will deliver more of a thrill.  If you have been whitewater rafting before or maybe you are just an adrenaline junkie, you will want to go as soon as the tours are open.  But this will require quite a bit of muscle power as the currents are stronger.  All you need to go is a life jacket, a helmet and a paddle which are all provided by the tour company.

I have been whitewater rafting once in my lifetime.  I went in August so the waves weren't as big as the spring.  "Wilderness Tours" is a great place to go.  It is somewhere in between Pembroke and Renfrew on the Ottawa River.  It was great fun and they even had family tour with smaller waves and smaller rafts.  The staff showed us some history of the area and they had a great sense of humour.
