Deadly Washington avalanche highlights airbag

The article I read was about 4 skiers in an avalanche in Washington. I learned that there is a pretty high death toll of people in avalanches and I did not know about ABS (Avalanche Airbag Backpack). Three of the skiers were killed and the fourth one who was the only one wearing the airbag backpack was the only one who survived. It has made me think about the dangers of going skiing and to be aware of staying in safe places and watching the weather conditions.
