Pinkbike is a great website for
anyone that’s into mountain biking. It has everything from the latest product
news, to race results, to adventure blogs, to product reviews. It’s one of the
most popular, if not the most popular mountain bike website in the world, with
over 78 million page views per month and over 10 million photos have been
uploaded by users. Its data output is 1.5 gigabytes/second. Enough of the
boring stats, the main reason people flock to this website is because of its
huge user base. There’s always something new on the front-page which you won’t
find anywhere else. The main reason I usually go on Pinkbike is to watch biking
videos. They have everything- insane downhill in the mountains of BC, XC riding
with amazing scenery in remote European locations, enduro racing, and so much
more.
They also have a very active forum
so more experienced bikers can help out people that are getting into the sport.
The largest category, Dirt Jumping and Street, has around 650,000 posts alone!
Lastly, they have a buy/sell part of the website which is a bit like kijijij
except for its only mountain bikes and mountain bike parts. It’s way easier to
filter the results for what you’re looking for, and I actually browse these a
lot because parts are much cheaper than buying a new bike. Just a couple days
ago I bought a frame and fork that would have set me back 3 times as much had I
bought them new. (Hence why I only had a couple hours to build a bike to bring
to Outdoor Ed.)
The only negative I have is that
there isn’t a specific place for how-tos, like how to rebuild a fork or how to
adjust brakes etc. for people that like doing things themselves. Other than
that I think it’s a great resource and worth checking out for anyone that’s
into mountain biking.
