The jaw-dropping benefits of cross country skiing By Chris Hutchison

Rating:***

This article is all about the statistical benefits that cross country skiers get from doing the sport. In the article, Chris Hutchinson talks all about how cross country skiing, unlike other sports, works your entire body rather than just a certain section of your body. He continues to list statistics of people who cross country skiing compared to those who don't  such as the strength of their cardiovascular muscles and their overall fitness level. Finally he states how it's easy to find a trail almost anywhere you are so anyone can do it.

I found this article to be very well written and informative. Lately this fall I've been thinking of taking up cross country skiing as something to do to keep me in shape during the winter and after reading this article I am definitely convinced. The author backs up all of his statements with facts and statistics to help prove his point and also writes it in a way that makes you want to go out and do it. The only problem I had with the article is that I wished that the author would ave talked more about the other positives of cross country skiing other then just fitness. He could have talked about the social aspect of skiing with others and just being able to be outside and appreciate nature during the winter.

In conclusion, this article was very well written and it was easy to tell that the author not only knew what he was talking about, but was also passionate about it. When I finished reading this article it made me want to try the sport for myself so I guess all I have to do now is strap on the skis!
