Fight For Your Right

On June 8th , National Rivers Day, started of with a major protest of paddlers on parliament hill protesting the bill to change to NWA (Navigable Waters Act). This is one of our oldest bills that grant every Canadian the right to use waterways as a form of transportation or recreation. If a waterways needs to be deemed non navigable they have to pass through a long backlog of requested. This backlog is causing headaches for Transport Canada. They new bill would basically switch this around, making any waterway that needs protecting and become navigable would need to go through this process. This new bill would also not recognize paddling rivers and would hinder a lot of people.
