Backpacking the Bruce Trail – Bryan March

Rating: ***

This article is a description of the preferred hiking route of the author, Bryan March.

The author enjoys the Bruce Trail because of its excellent places for shorter backpacking excursions. He begins his trip at Crane Lake. Hiking past the ruins of an old logging camp and a logging track he eventually reached High Dump. Near there is a good place to camp for the night. The next landmark is Cave Point which is a limestone shelf at the top of the escarpment. There are numerous caves in this area. There are many other stops that March mentions, but eventually he reached his goal of returning to Crane Lake Road.

I found this article to be rather interesting because I enjoy learning about other people’s style of camping and new routes that sound fascinating. The route that March chose to write about sounds like something I would enjoy exploring. The great views of the Bruce Peninsula sound worth seeing. I highly recommend this article to anyone looking for a new hiking route to try.
