Confessions Of A Cross-Paddler

Coming out of the gear closet for Gender Equality
Rating:***
By Alex Matthews
This is a somewhat humorous article that asks the question; why are men so afraid to use women kayaks and paddles, while women don't care either way? He also explains that the only major differences between "men" and "women" kayaking equipment is the size, and sometimes the color.

I liked this article because it does expose the lack of reasoning behind most men's fear of women equipment. Even though I read it, I still would never do what he did, and go up to rent a women's canoe. I guess I'm just another male afraid of being accused of using "girly" gear.
