Article Assignment #3 - Briana Day

Solo Climber Reaches New Heights

Tim Neville

This article is about a 26 year old professional rock climber named Alex Honnold. He had climbed a lot of crazy rock faces in his lifetime, but in 2010 he attempted to do something that no one had ever done; climb the 3 biggest rock faces in Yosemite National Park, alone and in 24 hours. The thing that made this even more crazy is that he planned on climbing all but 500 ft of 7000 vertical feet of rock without ropes or safety equipment.

Although we're not going to rock climb nearly to this extreme, I still found this article intriguing because we are going to go rock climbing, and I can't imagine doing what he has accomplished.

To find out if he made it, and if so, how long it took Alex Honnold to complete this task, you'll have to read this article. I must say, it is a truly inspiring story.
