A women survives for
eight days, thank to her survival skills after her canoe capsize on Kinosaskaw
Lake and her husband dies.
Enid Dice, a
62 year old women survived eight days after her canoe capsize. She was with her
husband, David Dice, a 66 year old man. Unfortunately he didn’t make it. Thanks
to her survival skills, she was able to light a fire and wait for rescue. A float
plane operator, who was transporting fisherman to a remote lake spotted the
canoe and the body of her husband on Kinosaskaw Lake, near a set of rapids
known as Needle Falls, The pilot contacted RCMP officer and mobilized a search
party. A few hours later, the search-and-rescue team spotted the woman. She
stay in the same spot and she knew what need to be done to be found. She was
brought to the hospital with no injuries.
This was an interesting
article to read. I find it sad that her husband die due the canoe capsizing, but
it is also was a good read because she didn’t give up or let her husband drag
her to the bottom. I like the first part of this article because it talks about
how they found her but the second wasn’t the great read because they talk about
how unfortunate how David dice die.
I recommend
this article for anyone does not have a fear of canoes or rapid.
