Last Frontier

Last Frontier
Kaydi Pyette
Rating ****

Last frontier is an interesting article about three people's account of being the first white water kayakers in the harsh weather and wonders of Papua New Guinea (PNG).

In his article, Kaydi describes the daily life of kayaking the unforgiving class V Rapids found deep in the PNG jungle. He talks about the welcomings given by the natives, many of which had never previously seen a white man, let alone a plastic kayak. The natives of PNG would always give them a good meal and a place to sleep for the night. He talks about the five major kayakable rivers which can be described as the Grand Canyon of PNG due to their towering banks of up to 100m.

I liked this article because it was captivating and it gives ideas for experienced paddlers on where to go for their next big trip. I also liked that this article told a story and that it was easy to follow unlike some others I have read in the past.

I would definitely recommend this article for people looking for an awesome trip idea in an exotic area mainly untouched by the modern world.
