Camp Big Canoe

    Camp Big Canoe is a member of Ontario’s camping association, the Ontario Recreational canoeing and Kayaking Association (ORCKA). This camp is facilitated on a 240 acres property located in Muskoka, Ontario. It is a non- profitable camp offering educational and enriching camping experience for boys and girls ages to 6-16.

    This camp focuses on providing outdoor experience and education from a young age to all campers. This program specializes in outdoor activities occasionally providing overnight offsite camping or canoe trips. This program and facility provides a sense of community between all staff and campers and the environment itself. Camp big Canoe provides campers with fun traditional camp activities such as sports and games, swimming, low ropes courses, canoeing and team building activities. It provides campers with fun outdoor activities and self-building skills creating strength and knowledge amongst each camper.

     This camp is a great facility for both young boys and girls. It is a great and fun way to experience the outdoors while building individual and team skills. The concepts learned are a great value to the outdoor world enriching each camper’s knowledge. I think it is a great beginner or non- experienced program to all kids, providing each and one of them useful knowledge about the outdoor world.  I believing that the importance of outdoor education has a great and valuable importance. It can moreover inspires those campers to continue building upon their skills and improve themselves. The importance of outdoor activities can also contribute to personal growth and character building creating a sense of adventure, perseverance, strength, trust, willingness and awareness in ones character. This camp is a great way to introduce young individuals to a worthwhile experience which will enrich and develops their skills and knowledge. It also contributes to great healthy life while providing fitness and encourages the pursuit in the outdoors to an adulthood age and beyond.
