Hiker Slips and Falls into the Middle Cascades of Yosemite Falls - Yosemite Search and Rescue

****

The site for Yosemite national park has many interesting search and rescue stories that include all different types of accidents that can happen on a hiking trip

In this article a man who was hiking with his friends got too close to the ledge of a gorge and slipped in. when he fell in the white waters pushed him 100 feet until he slammed into a rock and managed to climb onto it to escape the cold waters. His friends called the search and rescue because no one could climb into the ridge to save him without risking their own lives. The search and rescue helicopter came soon after and rescued the man who only had minor scratches, bruises and mild hypothermia.

I found this article very interesting and it shows how a simple hiking trip can turn into a disaster just because someone wanted a better look at the nature surrounding them. I also realized the danger of moving water and wet slippery rocks.
