Canadian Canoe Routes is an excellent place to plan your canoe trips anywhere in Canada. You can browse in any section of any province and see which canoe routes are rated the best and the level of difficulty for every route. There is also a page for people to view what recipes are good for outdoor trips. It shows the preparation time, level of difficulty and directions for making the meal. There is a gear page which suggests what gear to bring for wilderness trips and advice on how to plan for different types of adventures.
This website is perfect for the outdoor ed course; it contains plenty of information on planning for a trip or just going out for a one day canoe. Students can search up canoe routes near them and even look at what gear to bring for canoeing. It can also be used to plan for the school canoe trips as well with plenty of Algonquin Park routes. I highly recommend this website to any canoeists in Canada.

wintertrekking.com
Wintertrekking.com
Winter trekking is a website with lots of information on how to dress properly and be active in the winter while staying safe. They have lots of information on cross country skiing and snowshoeing as well as information on camping in the winter months. They have lots of information on how to stay safe like avoiding frostbite, hypothermia and what to do if something like that occurs. Also they have a forum section if you want to ask questions about anything related to being outdoors in the winter. Its free to sign up so no need for credit cards or anything like that to ask questions just an email address.
Outdoor ed students could use this site to find out information on waxing skis, proper clothing selection as well how to be safe outside in the winter. There is information on avoiding snow blindness safety around lakes and rivers giving the fact that we sometimes ski near rivers and streams it is something students should know. Students can also use this site for review on winter clothing selection to avoid frostbite and hypothermia. The site also has information on proper sleeping bag selection which is important for students planning on doing winter-camp

Elevation Outdoors - A new Outdoor Ed resource
Elevation Outdoors - A new Outdoor Ed resource
Sometimes it was difficult to find a nice and interesting Outdoor article to read. Thankfully I found "Elevation Outdoors Magazine".
Elevation Outdoors Magazine is a magazine that can be read in different kinds of formats (the printed version, online version, iPad version…) and that has articles about a variety of topics. You can find articles and news from snow sports to fly fishing. This magazine also has an exciting Youtube channel with absorbing videos. I found this last part really interesting because sometimes, it is easier to learn from a video than from a text. You can also be up-to-date on the articles, pictures or videos they publish by following their twitter account.
I hope other people will be able to take advantage of this Outdoor Ed resource and learn from it.
